After only a few days the soaked lentils have sprouted into these adorable green shoots!
How easy was that?? ( See garden post from the other day )
I’ve just been using them as a nice Spring decoration but there is no reason why I couldn’t snip them off and pop them in a salad or on a sandwich.
I’m thinking that now I know how easy this is that I can always have a batch on the go!
Try it. You’ll love it!

Lovely sprouts. Did you know Mike is “sprouting ” also?
I know a lot of stuff about Mike but did NOT know he was “sprouting”!!
I’ve been curious about trying to do my own sprouts. I thought you needed special equipment or something,… like a big jar… but it looks like you keep it pretty simple. I guess it is that simple?
Well there is that kind of sprouting too, but these ones really were THAT simple. Soak the lentils, drain them, put them in a bowl with a paper towel, keep the paper towel moist, watch them grow! We never ate these ones, just kept them for decoration, so I can’t vouch for their taste. Have fun!
Oh- I see! Well, I can see how this would be fun for my kids! Maybe we will try it. Thanks! 🙂
Those are so sweet looking.
